# Walkie One 23.2 - R9 Soapbar Current soap-bar geometry proposal, 8 September 2026. Engineering prototype and supplier review; not a production release. ## What changed The enclosure is rebuilt as a 28 mm-radius rounded plan with independent 12 mm front/rear rolls. R8 used a 12 mm radius for both. The top/bottom straight segment shortens from 56 to 24 mm, and the long side segment from 104 to 72 mm. Body dimensions stay 80 x 128 x 28.5 mm; the complete modeled envelope stays 81.4 x 128 x 29.4 mm. The grille and its opening, bond and support are rounded together (grille corner R18.1 instead of R12.1). These changes are real B-rep surfaces, not a display deformation. The provisional USB board is repackaged as a 5.6 x 10 x 1 mm envelope at X=-32.8, Y=-44; the antenna reservation narrows to 40 x 7 x 8 mm to clear the curved back. These are packaging references pending component selection. The carrier, rear RF panel and its adhesive follow the new inner surfaces. Rear closure uses four recessed M2 x 20 screws: head back Z=4.0, bearing Z=5.3, rear-carrier seat Z=7.3, front boss seat Z=22.0, screw tip Z=25.3 and blind bore end Z=26.0. Nominal engagement is 3.3 mm with 0.7 mm tip clearance. No front screw openings. R8 parts and closure hardware are not interchangeable with R9. The supplied PCBA is preserved at its original scale and reference placement. Battery, speaker, antenna, USB module and play-switch volumes remain provisional. The 69.4 x 10 mm PTT retains its lower edge Y=-34 and upper edge Y=35.4; the lower USB opening retains center Y=-45, Z=15.3. The flat grille has real perforations. All images are rendered from the exported CAD. ## Deliverables - output/pdf/: four-page supplier brief in the shared catalogue format. - reference_detail/: six-page illustrated engineering detail with R8/R9 comparison and closure dimensions. - delivery/: combined ten-page handoff and a curated build-file ZIP, generated from the source package. - step/: named case assembly, assembly with references and individual editable neutral solids. - stl/: individual parts in installed coordinates; choose the correct material/process, not a single-material assembly print. - drawings/: exact flat grille DXF and material/fit coupons; no developed blank for compound-curved shells. - docs/: BOM, assembly traveler, open engineering inputs, geometry dimensions and package hashes. - references/: original PCBA and explicitly provisional component envelopes. - previews/: eight views rendered from the matching STL files and editable Blender scene. - code/: portable parametric CAD, verification, render, documentation and package builders. ## Rebuild Use Python 3.9 with requirements-cad.txt. Run `python code/build_revision.py`, then `python code/verify_and_coupons.py`. Use Blender 5.2: `blender --background --threads 6 --python code/render_revision.py`. With requirements-docs.txt installed, run `python code/make_handoff.py`, then `python code/package_revision.py` and `python code/create_delivery.py`. Run in that order; new geometry invalidates old validation, renders, documents and checksums. No local Downloads file is needed. STEP contains neutral solids; edit the Python parameters for a repeatable parametric rebuild. No native Fusion timeline, DWG or F3D is claimed. ## Supplier scope and remaining engineering Request thin-wall CNC/workholding review and process/fit coupons first; then one unpowered fit article and one appearance article after supplier acceptance. Nominal shell skin is 1.0 mm 304 stainless with integral blind bosses. A forming alternative requires separate tooling, wall-thinning/springback trials and attached-boss development. Finished edge breaks and process allowances must be agreed with the supplier. The planar grille DXF is not a shell blank. Walkie One owns electrical design, charging/battery protection, firmware, RF, acoustic and functional qualification. The lower USB connector PCB, its interconnect and retention, side switch supports, microphone duct, final battery and antenna are unresolved engineering inputs. Rigid CAD clearance does not validate PTT bending, force or actuation along its length. A working-device production package cannot be completed until these components and tests are resolved. Supplier scope is a request for review, not a purchase order. Use the PDF, BOM and STEP together. Stop and resolve discrepancies before fabrication. Inspect physical fit, fastener engagement, isolation, finish, seams, control motion and port access. No RF, ingress, thermal, drop, lifecycle or production-readiness rating is claimed.
