# WALKIE ONE v12.3 — Print-Shop Notes

## Grille process coupon

Print `Walkie_Prototype_Tolerance_Coupon_v12_3` first using the same process, material, orientation, nozzle, extrusion width, and compensation planned for the front shell. It contains the approved Ø1.4/1.8/2.2 mm openings and the 1.0 mm minimum-web condition.

The new grille is substantially more FDM-friendly than the former artwork: its smallest opening is 1.4 mm and its thinnest web is 1.0 mm. For a nominal 0.4 mm nozzle these correspond to 3.5 nozzle widths and 2.5 nozzle widths, respectively. This is a process target, not a substitute for the coupon.

## Recommended routes

- FDM: appropriate for the fit/ergonomic prototype after the coupon succeeds. Keep stringing and elephant-foot compensation controlled; do not drill individual grille holes unless a measured compensation plan is applied consistently.
- Tough SLA/DLP engineering resin: best for a fine presentation surface and crisp W-size gradation.
- MJF or SLS PA12: strongest production-like functional prototype, with a naturally textured finish.

## Color and finish

- Shells: warm light grey, low-gloss/satin, lightly textured.
- PTT: Bauhaus red.
- Volume controls: Bauhaus yellow.
- Front action button: Bauhaus blue.
- Status lens: neutral translucent/frosted.

STL files do not preserve dependable color metadata. Use the Fusion/3MF appearance as a visual reference and approve physical color samples.

## Acceptance

- Import units are millimetres.
- Do not auto-repair or simplify meshes unless compared with the supplied originals; independent validation reports zero open and non-manifold edges.
- Protect exterior surfaces, moving guides, and the USB bridge from support scars.
- Inspect every grille opening for strings or trapped support before installing the speaker and gasket.
- Confirm screw engagement and USB insertion force on the first article.
