# Materials and parts

All quantities are one per device. These are prototype material and finish targets; rendered colors are not calibrated physical color standards. Approve material/finish samples before committing to production tooling.

| IDs | Components | Intended material and process |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 01, 02 | Front and back shells | Rigid PA12 prototype; chalk-white matte finish. PC-ABS is an alternative future molded material, subject to a separate tooling design. |
| 03, 05, 06, 07, 08 | Front action carrier, switch clamp, PTT carrier, volume up/down carriers | Rigid PA12 prototype, warm-grey finish. Preserve guide, stop and actuation surfaces. |
| 04 | Status lens | Neutral frosted translucent polymer; test LED transmission and fit with the actual LED. |
| 09 | Removable perimeter rim | Warm-grey TPU, nominal 85A, or a separately qualified cast elastomer. Nominal wall 1.2 mm. |
| 10, 12, 14 | Front action, volume up and volume down faces | 6061 aluminium, brushed and warm-grey anodized for the pewter appearance. Printed rigid substitutes may be used for fit trials. |
| 11, 13, 15 | Metal-face bond films | Nominal 0.10 mm adhesive layer. Choose and test an adhesive compatible with the actual polymer, aluminium finish and service environment. |
| 16 | Ribbed PTT grip | Orange TPU, nominal 85A. Four flexible mushroom studs plus the bond layer retain it on the rigid carrier. |
| 17 | PTT bond film | Nominal 0.10 mm adhesive reference, compatible with the selected TPU and carrier. |

There are **13 physical components plus four bond-layer solids**. The three metal faces and four bond layers have reference STLs for visualization and fit planning; they are not normal polymer print jobs.

## Appearance targets

| Material | Reference sRGB | Surface intent |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Chalk shell | 0.89, 0.88, 0.84 | Matte, fine polymer finish |
| Warm-grey rim | 0.49, 0.47, 0.43 | Low-gloss elastomer |
| Orange PTT | 0.80, 0.255, 0.095 | Low-gloss molded/printed ribs |
| Pewter faces | 0.60, 0.59, 0.55 | Fine directional brushing, anodized aluminium |
| Carrier | 0.43, 0.42, 0.38 | Matte rigid polymer |

The PTT ribs are modeled geometry. Brushing and general matte surface texture are finish specifications, not microscopic CAD geometry. Preview metallic and roughness settings are visual parameters, not measured material properties.

## Prototype fabrication notes

Use the STEP solids as the dimensional authority. STLs are unitless by format and must be interpreted in millimetres. Check small clearances and adhesive thickness with the chosen process before printing a complete set. The original Concept 26 tolerance coupon is included among the references but does not qualify the new rim, studs or bond joints.

Rigid shells/carriers, flexible parts, translucent lens, metal faces and adhesive layers require separate fabrication operations. Support placement, anisotropy, surface finishing and shrinkage must be assessed by the fabricator. The sleeve is removable and modeled without molding draft or a production parting strategy; a cast or injection-molded version needs process-specific engineering.

Do not infer a solid metal enclosure from the pewter control faces. The selected case remains rigid polymer with an elastomer rim.
