# WalkieOne v31 — refined prototype CAD

Open **cad/WalkieOne-v31-refined-prototype.f3d** in Autodesk Fusion.

This is a new native Fusion assembly built on the supplied v30 geometry. It takes the designer's clear part-based construction as a reference while preserving v30's physical design. The body remains **73.5 × 143.25 × 19.4 mm**; the existing LED and volume-button projections are additional to that envelope. Electronics positions, mounting surfaces, button stops, clearances and grille seating are retained.

## What changed

- Ten named assembly modules replace a flat collection of shapes. Printable parts and nonprinted reference parts are explicitly labeled.
- Seventy-five redundant split faces were removed from the front shell, with zero added or removed solid volume.
- The two PTT links, four shoulder sleeves and two speaker spacers were rebuilt with native dimensioned sketches and extrusions. These eight pieces share three component definitions.
- The 22 printed pieces are represented by 17 unique printed component definitions. The physical part count remains unchanged.
- The timeline is grouped into assembly modules, preserved v30 interfaces, and editable shared parts. Part numbers, material-role colors and exact electronics references are included. Wiring allowances are hidden by default.

The shells and complex retainers are editable solid **base features**, preserving their exact fit surfaces. They are not a fully reconstructed sketch-by-sketch parametric design. The three `REF_Body_*` parameters document the fixed envelope; changing them does not resize the shells. The other parameters drive the rebuilt shared parts. Instance locations describe the static assembled position; moving joints and motion simulation have not been added.

## Verification and prototype use

The saved native file was reopened in Fusion. All 468 solids were checked against the v30 foundation, all 22 printed solids were compared with solid Boolean differences, and the front/rear fit and exact body dimensions were checked. The final STEP files also undergo independent OpenCascade import, validity and dimensional checks. See `verification/RELEASE.json` for final results and hashes.

Neutral STEP files use the exact preserved foundation geometry plus the new Fusion-generated shared parts. A rear-shell STEP pcurve serialization issue was repaired and checked on reimport; this avoids distributing the invalid raw translator output. Native Fusion geometry and source geometry remain dimensionally equivalent.

This is a CAD reconstruction for the existing 3D-printed prototype, not a mechanical redesign or injection-molding release. Keep v30's print orientations, materials, hardware, adhesive, wiring and assembly requirements. CAD colors identify roles, not requested filament colors. The grille is represented by its metal blank envelope; the illustrative perforation pattern is omitted. Physical button return, fit, wiring, acoustics and adhesive performance still require the assembled prototype checks documented with v30.

Both supplied archives and their original files remain unchanged.
